Shamitabh 7th Day Collection : First Week Box Office Report

Shamitabh has a below average opening week at domestic Box Office. Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush starer despite receiving rave reviews from critics and audience failed to make any impression at Box Office. The movie struggled from opening day and managed to collect only 18.8 crores in its opening week.

After registering a poor start with collection of 3.5 crores on opening day, the movie did show decent growth on Saturday and Sunday with collection of 4.75 crores and 5.25 Crores. The real problem for the movie starts from weekdays when the collection goes on sliding down. The movie managed to collect only 5.3 crores from Monday to Thursday which is a poor sing for Amitabh Bachchan and R. Balki. The actor-director pair has delivered some successful movies like Paa, Cheeni Kum in past.

The movie performed poorly in most parts of the country except few areas from Southern India where Dhanush and R. Balki enjoys good fan following.

The movie is made on a budget of around 40 crores. Considering the first week performance of the movie and two big releases ready for release this week, it seems Shamitabh will add to the list of flops in 2015. The movie should end up with lifetime collection of 25 crores. Verdict : Big Flop.
